Raffles Istanbul set for summer opening

When Raffles Istanbul would start its operation, they would be the real incarnation of Istanbul’s new face that is eclectic, energetic and cutting-edge. The hotel is located at the heart of Zorlu Center, which is a brand new hub for food, arts and fashion on the shore in Besiktas, overlooking Bosphorus.

This is a gen next market where art, performance and fashion converge. Like those of their fashionable sister Raffles Paris, the modern and sleek interiors at the Raffles Istanbul would be decorated with an impressive artwork collection, mainly commissioned from artists, a blend of photography, video, paintings and sculpture installations.

All these would come together under the influence of Turkish heritage and culture, providing the hotel a great sense of place. Like in Paris, Raffles Istanbul would have an Art Concierge, to channelize clients through the exciting new art scene of the city that, over the past few years, has changed from highly traditional to a fresh one, celebrating its new generation of artists energetically.

Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, which is the very first private museum of Turkey to host contemporary and modern art exhibits, was founded in the year 2004 on the Bosphorus shores, and in 2012, the contemporary art space SALT opened.

Previous year, several Istanbul art galleries paid heed to Frieze London and Art Basel in Hong Kong and Basel. Raffles Hotels & Resorts president Peter French told that Turkey is a rising star of the global economy and Istanbul is a rising star of global tourism.
