Bing ranks Istanbul as top ten

Istanbul is the only eastern European destination to rank among the top ten most searched places across the world; stated a recent search trends data disclosed by Bing. England capital London is still the most searched destination in Europe, holding on to its number one position for the 2nd year in a row.

Travel leaders choose Istanbul for summit

Roger E. Block, the president of Travel Leaders Franchise Group has stated that Istanbul in Turkey, would serve as the host place for Travel Leaders International Summit next year. The recently started Shangri-La Bosphorus would be the hotel for the conference that would start from 4th April and would go on till 6th April, 2014.

Travel Leaders meeting sponsor Delta Air Lines would give an offer on both BusinessElite as well as economy seating. Private tours of the city, and pre and post tour picks for places in Turkey would be available from both Meander Travel and Globus.

Istanbul is number one city in Europe

In the World’s Best Awards 2013, Istanbul has been named as the number one city in Europe by Travel + Leisure, tramping the Istanbul’s credentials in its goal to host the Olympic Games in 2020 and also the Paralympic Summer Games.

Ending in the 2nd spot voting in the world category, Istanbul beat out Venice, London and Paris in European category. Over thirty one million people went to this Turkish city from across the world last year, and the tourists’ number in Istanbul has also increased in 2013’s first six months.

Arat to appear at 2014 World Sports Congress

Hasan Arat, the Istanbul bid leader for 2020 Paralympics and Olympics, has been confirmed to be a part of the 2013 World Sports Congress that will take place in London later this month. There he will appear in a Q and A session on Turkish's cities push to hold the Games.

The Congress that is still to take place at Churchill Hyatt Regency in London on 26th and 27th February, will see Hasan Arat give an insight about Istanbul's bid with National Olympic Committee of Turkey vice-president to take questions from all the delegates regarding how his team plan to set a strong bid case.

Chinese Cave art displayed

Istanbul’s most reputed Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University hosted an exhibition show entitled The Colors of Dunhuang; The Magic Gateway to the Silk Road recently. Integral part of China’s cultural heritage, the art pieces are being exhibited in Europe for the very first time in this exhibition.

Istanbul becoming popular

The eleven – story The Marti Istanbul hotel, with its 270 rooms, opened earlier this year, but now the hotel is all set to have a grand opening in December. The hotel, which is located in Istanbul’s Taksim, will introduce their public places next month, including a food store called ‘Gourmet Shop’, Brass restaurant, a full service spa along with Turkish hamams and a private lounge for suite guests.
